As a former ECNL champion, national team pool player, and U20 FIFA World Cup qualifier participant, College and Semi-Pro player, Ian understands what it takes to succeed—and now he’s here to help your child do the same.
Coach Ian understood early on that academics were important, not only for acquiring knowledge but to help him managing time and having discipline. Doors opened due to his GPA, test scores, and involvement in extracurricular activities such as marching band and the National Honor Society.
Coach Ian goal is to always communicate clearly and respectfully with parents and players. Transparency about goals, progress, and expectations is primordial to have a successful coach/player relationship. All athletes will participate in a safe and supportive training environment.
Coach Ian sets a positive example on and off the field. Currently the Student Mentor at Saddlebrook Prep, he promotes strong values such as discipline, respect, leadership, and humility, emphasizing academics, teamwork, and life skills to some of the top-ranked young tennis players and golfers in the US.
We all want to be the best we can be, and you are here because you want to reach the next level, BUT, remember, soccer is a game. Coach Ian will be encouraging, energetic, and patient. He truly enjoys working with young players, creating a positive learning experience—especially when players struggle.
In the year 2018, there were over 450,000 boys playing high school soccer in the US. 50 players in the USA are selected by coaches in their state as player of the year based on statistics, leadership and schedule difficulty.
The United Soccer Coaches Association selects All-American players based on a structured nomination and voting process that emphasizes on-field performance, character, and contributions to the team during the season.
Playing under Coach Eric Sims, Coach Ian was starting box-to-box center mid (8) for the USL’s Rowdies TBU ECNL team. Coach Ian led the tournament in assists helping his teammates win the coveted State Championship in 2018.
Coach Ian led in assists, winning the Southern Regionals Championship, a critical stepping-stone in the USYS pathway—with the goal of advancing to the National Championships and gaining exposure in the collegiate soccer landscape.
Honored by Wiregrass Ranch High School in 2018 as the most recruited athlete in school history. Admitted by 15 prestigious colleges, including Loyola, Rutgers, George Mason, NYU and receiving over 30 scholarship offers.
Awarded the Goizueta Endowed Scholarship—an honor inspired by Coca-Cola CEO Roberto Goizueta’s legacy of lifelong learning and gratitude, reflecting Ian’s commitment to excellence across academics, music, and athletics.
Twice in his career, Coach Ian has been selected to the US Soccer Federation National Team pool of players, traveling to the USSF National Training Centers along with the most talented and successful players and coaches in the nation.
Due to his dual Olympic citizenship, Coach Ian was also selected as part of the U-20 World Cup Qualifiers Puerto Rico National Soccer Team, ranked 22nd among 41 teams ranked by CONCACAF.
Already gone through his second passport book, Coach Ian has trained in Glasgow, Munich, Madrid, Cologne and Duisburg among other cities.His style of play earned him invitations with teams from La Liga, the Bundesliga and the MLS.
In 2020, Coach Ian became a UPSL team owner, the player pro-development league in North America. He became the youngest team owner, coach and player in the highly competitive league.
